Steevio & Suzybee
hn.Steevio
From opening the first U.K. Electro/ Breakdance club in the 1980’s & his involvment in the Free Festival/Traveller movement to co-organising huge techno warehouse parties and more recently running the labels Mindtours & Mindnet, Steevio has always been immersed in music.
His current style is hard to pinpoint, as it is constantly evolving, but his use of analogue equipment has resulted in his sound being defined by it’s raw, organic and warm nature. Steevios rhythmic style is awash with polyrhythmic textures, and avoids heavy dependence on 4/4 & the result is a minimal sound which has flavours of deep techno, broken beat, jazz, dub and house, and is distinctly tribal and funky. Steevios style may be experimental, but he also believes in accessibility, and always has the dance floor in mind.

Steevio now works alongside Mindtours Label boss and VJ Suzybee, in a synergic audio-visual performance. Suzybee graduated in Fine Art around the time techno music was exploding in the UK, and it wasn’t long before she was combining her artistic aptitudes with the dance scene, providing backdrops and décor for parties.
As computers and software improved Suzybee shifted her skills into the digital domain, using her own cutting edge hand-drawn animations combined with digital effects perfectly synched to Steevio’s music. This has become the Mindtours trademark in recent times, and Steevio and Suzybee create their music and visuals together as one holistic performance. Suzybee also provides all the artwork for Mindtours releases, many of which are snapshots of her animations.
Steevio & Suzybee will perform on Saturday 25th Oct on the lounge stage of the Netaudio London night
