Quarion

At the early age of 13, Yanneck Salvo began playing the saxophone in a string of jazz-funk outfits. Four years later he bought a DJ set, becoming an avid collector of hip hop, jazz, soul and funk records. From 1995 onwards he was heavily into house music and drum&bass, spinning in the Geneva club and bar circuit as Ianeq.

Having set up his own studio in 2001, Ianeq found a musical partner in Rosario. As a result they started producing as Square Meal and in 2004 were joined by Japan’s renowned DJ-producer Kent, recording a full album of dancefloor-pounding and home-listening material as Enterplay.

During spring of 2005, the Enterplay trio set up a tour that took them to packed venues in Switzerland, Belgium, England and Japan. Motivated by this touring experience, particularly in the land of the rising sun, Ianeq has been working hard in the studio to produce “Karasu”, his deepest track to date. The track was signed to Drumpoet Community under the Quarion moniker and started getting massive deckplay from Ame, Dixon, Alex Attias and many others. This attention resulted in remix work for DJ Gregory, Agnès, Mustang & Jamie Lloyd (which generated particular attention as it was massively supported by DJ’s like Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Anja Schneider and Jennifer Cardini) as well as appearing twice on Booka Shade’s mix for the famous DJ-Kicks series.

Now based in Berlin, Ianeq is working on his Quarion debut album for Drumpoet Community as well as new materiel and remixes for Versatile, Perspectiv, Four:twenty and Connaisseur.

Quarion will perform on Friday 24th October on the Netaudio Berlin Stage
