Netaudio Market
The Netaudio Market is set to be the village fair of the digital generation. Across a range of stalls you can lay your hands on the latest gadgets, kit and software with everything from digital DJ tools to fully fledged audio production software. As a modern day equivalent of a fun fair, the Netaudio Market also features a number of interactive installations and stalls allowing you to have a taste of what’s on offer by experimenting with numerous sound and internet tools as well as simply enjoying one of the professionals demonstrations.
Confirmed stalls include:
- Cycling’74 – Max/MSP: The software tool that sets the standard for sound art and computer music. You will have the chance to check out the features of the latest version (Max5) with competent advice given to beginners and experts alike. As part of the Netaudio raffle, you can win two Max/MSP/Jitter bundles plus Pluggo, Mode and Hipno plugins.
- Eowave: Analog-Digital/Midi converter that lets you control music tools without limits, be it with mics, movement or light sensors. – Check on the night for the presentation schedule.
- Motion in Sound: A kinetic machine suspended from the ceiling will generate unpredictable rhythms and patterns, building up and releasing tension, translating data from impact and gyroscope Eowave sensors into sound.
- Netaudio Berlin: Meet our partners from Germany face-to-face – your chance to learn more about the Berlin’s vibrant music and netlabel scene and to tie first contacts in regards of foreign gigs and city trips.
- Ableton: The software that has revolutionised laptop live performance. Led by the UK’s leading expert on this music tool, Martin Delaney, the Ableton stall offers some handy tricks to both newbies and weathered performers. - Isolated Response: An installation that explores the power of sound as a stimulus to provoke work in individual artists and examines how these individual artistic responses then grow in resonance when assembled and ‘performed’ together.
- MsPinky: Not a peep show, but the hottest open source digital mixing tool in town. Get your hands on Ms Pinky and explore her potential for sound production and DJ-performance.
- New Transmission Models: An installation where the traditional shape of a radio broadcast is reversed and extended – rather than a solitary source dispersing to many points, many sources funnel into a solitary destination before dispersing again.
- Soundman OKMs: These small, binaural, stereo effect microphones are perfect for use with a camcorder or for on the spot recording, and ideal for capturing the passing of sound. Come and try them out for yourself at the Netaudio Market.
- Attendant Materials: A platform for sound performance and recording using film as a form of graphic score for the creation of music using physically manipulated acoustic sources. You are invited to record sound effects – check for a schedule nearer the time.
- Netaudio info, record and merchandise stall: Your point of call if want to meet the people behind Netaudio London. Plus we have raft of records, demotapes and all sorts of merchandise on sale or to give away and sell tickets to the well stocked Netaudio raffle.
- Kudos Kudos is a new breed of digital distributor – with the onus firmly on communication and retail relationships, and the quality standard set high to ensure optimum placement for our label’s releases. Kudos’ diverse roster carries some of the most forward-thinking music out there (Touch, Mego, Yoruba, Exceptional, Mr Bongo, Need2Soul, Thirsty Ear…), and we’re always on the lookout! - SoundCloud Media Lounge: Exhausted of so much input? Then relax in the comfy Media Lounge, the place to chill, to check your emails, to listen to netaudio tunes, hosted by SoundCloud.
- Alt Recordings operates to push the funk in all the darkened corners of house and techno, featuring established artists such as Tom Ellis and Leif alongside unheard talent from all over the world. Come and visit their stall to have a go at remixing choice tunes from the Alt back catalogue, with the best remix from the festival going out on the website shortly afterwards.
The Netaudio Market is open Wednesday-Friday 6pm-11pm, Saturday, 8pm-midnight. Some stalls might offer particular workshops where places are limited. Subscribe to the newsletter or the blog to be kept informed.
