Motion in Sound
Eoin Furbank was born in Dublin, raised in Cornwall and now lives in London, having studied sound-art and music formally and informally for most of his life he considers himself neither artist nor musician rather maker of funny noises and semi useless gadgets.
Resent audio visual work includes a Skate park installation where a large skate park was built & sixteen piezoelectric transducers were used as both microphones and triggers sending audio signals to 2 computers. Along a similar theme, & in the same location, a fifteen meter walk way was constructed along the corridor with twelve piazo transducers working as contact microphones inserted under the walk way sending audio feeds to the main computer running a patch in max/msp.
Eoin’s current project is a kinetic machine suspended from the ceeling will generate unpredictable rhythms and patterns, building up and releasing tension, data from impact and gyroscope Eowave sensors will send data to two computers. The first computer, running vvvv will process live video of the machine using the data from the sensors, which will then be projected on to a full length screen behind it. The second computer will both generate audio using data from the sensors and manipulate live audio from the space. If that sounds all a bit too much, just come and experience the work…
